The Institute has laid the foundation for the development
of Korean studies and contributed to its deepening through
various activities such as seminars, policy forums, and
international conferences. The Institute owes many institutions and figures from various circles for their generous contributions. Especially, I'd like to express my deepest thanks to TS Coporation for its continuous support.
The KOREA OBSERVER, an English quarterly journal, has
been published by the Institute of Korean Studies since
its inception. The Journal has provided multi-faceted
researches on Korea, and has earned a reputation as one
of the leading journal in Korean studies. It is now distributed
to the libraries, universities, research institutes, and
individuals over 160 countries in the world.
Under the changing domestic and international environment
of the 21st Century, the Institute of Korean Studies is
preparing for another leap through its expanded activities.
I hope that our Institute and its operation suit your
interests in the widest spectrum of Korean affairs of
